SEBI held that the arrangement between NOMPL and KMIL (specific demat account plus Power of Attorney) cannot be recognized as creation of a valid pledge on the shares since it is not in accordance with SEBI (Depositories and Participants) Regulations, 1996.

As on date the value of securities lying in the said demat account is Rs 1,09,37,147/- taking the closing price as on 20/09/2017)
