Page 4 of 8 VSE) respectively. As stated above, the scrip price witnessed an increase of 341% i.e. from Rs 13.16 to Rs 58.05/-, in just six months starting from January, 2004 to June, 2004. During the period of investigation 85,15,574 shares of FTEL were traded at BSE which were far more than 15,45,500 shares, the traded volume during the entire calendar year of 2003. From the above said figures, it can be inferred that before the investigation period, the volume in the scrip of FTEL was not huge and it was not fairly liquid scrip. Further, there was no fundamental or justification for such a sudden spurt in the volume and price in the scrip of FTEL. Hence, it is clear that the huge volume had been created through fraudulent dealings in the scrip of FTEL by various connected entities.
