The investigation report revealed that in pre split period, all trades in the scrip of VTL were squared off and delivery based trading volume was nil. The trading in the post split period was characterized by huge intra day price movements’ hitting upper and lower circuit filters on many days. During the investigation period two connected groups namely Ajit Suryavanshi Group and Vishwas Kohli Group heavily traded in the scrip, entered into synchronized / structured deals, reversal of trades and circular deals in such a manner that led to creation of artificial volumes and distorted market equilibrium leading to wide fluctuation in the price which did not have any correlation with the performance of the VTL.
