approximately 40% of the combined trading volumes of NSE and BSE and this by and large also contributed to the price rise in the scrip. Based on these reports, it was surmised that there was a possibility that these trades were fictitious and meant to create artificial volumes and increase the price of the scrip of the company. Amongst these clients, Shri Rajesh Kasat, (hereinafter referred to as ‘RK’) the proprietor of M/s Rajesh Kasat & Co, Member, Pune Stock Exchange (PSE) who was found to be amongst the top five ultimate clients dealing in the scrip of the company, was also coincidentally, one of the NSE brokers through whom KIL had traded substantially in the scrip during the period under investigation. RK denied that Keynet Finance Limited was his business outfit and that Kasat Securities Pvt Limited had substantially traded in the scrip by enrolling as a client to other brokers. He clarified that Kasat Securities Pvt Limited had transacted in about 3,85,61,573 shares which was not even 1% of the total transactions entered into in the said scrip. RK denied the knowledge about the scrip being likely to be manipulated or that he had aided and abetted KIL or Saurabh Bora in creating a false or a

# In addition to his trading at BSE and NSE, RK had also purchased 30,000 shares @ Rs.59.30 on spot basis from Shri Sourabh H Bora, which was reported in the PSE wherein RK, as stated above held an individual membership.
