Adjudication Order in respect of Mr. Sunil Kr. Purohit in the matter of M/s. KRBL Ltd. Page 2 of 20 restored the matter to the file of Adjudicating Officer for passing fresh order on merits and in accordance with the Law against the Noticee. The Hon’ble SAT observed that:

It was stated in the SCN that SEBI conducted an investigation in respect of trading in the scrip of KRBL Limited. Investigation revealed that out of the· total 10736152 shares traded on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) during the period June 27, 2003 to December 31, 2003, trades for 4017724 shares, i.e. 37.42 % of the total quantity traded in the market, were trades in the nature of synchronized circular/ reversal trades involving certain clients/ brokers. From the data relating to the 138 trading days during the investigation period it was observed that on BSE, the volume contribution of such synchronized/ Circular trades was 50 % or more of the day's total quantity traded on 41 days and was more than 30 % of the gross volume on 80 days. Out of 138 trading days covering the entire period of investigation, trade reversal transactions took place ·on 111 trading days, thus creating artificial volume of trading and giving misleading impression of trading in the market.
