Page 2 of 13 “Complainants”) alleged that they had lent shares of various listed companies to MMSPL on August 24th 2003 and August 1st, 2005 respectively based on the understanding that MMSPL would give periodical returns of interest/yield under the Securities Lending Scheme. The complainants further stated that they had been getting regular returns till November 2006 including dividends and bonus/issue declared by the respective companies but thereafter, since December 2006, MMSPL was neither paying interest/yield on the borrowed shares nor returning the shares to them. Subsequently, SEBI conducted inquiry in the matter.
